About the Role
We are looking for a Social Media Manager to own our brand presence across all social platforms. You will be responsible for posting, scheduling, community engagement, analytics, and strategy – but not content creation (you will receive graphics from the Graphic Designer and videos from the Video Content Creator). Your job is to maximize reach, engagement, and growth by publishing the right content at the right time, interacting with followers, and continuously optimizing based on data.
Responsibilities
Content Scheduling & Publishing
- Manage a weekly/monthly content calendar in collaboration with the Video Content Creator and Graphic Designer.
- Schedule and publish posts across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, YouTube – as applicable) using tools like Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, or native schedulers.
- Ensure each post includes the correct caption, hashtags, tags, and link (or link in bio).
- Adapt the same core content for different platforms (e.g., turn a YouTube short into a TikTok post, or a graphic into a LinkedIn carousel).
Community Management & Engagement
- Monitor comments, DMs, and mentions – respond promptly, professionally, and on-brand.
- Engage with relevant accounts in your niche (like, comment, share) to build community and increase visibility.
- Identify and escalate customer service issues or crisis situations to the appropriate team.
- Foster user-generated content (UGC) by encouraging shares, running polls, or hosting simple contests.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track key metrics daily/weekly: reach, impressions, engagement rate, click-through rate (CTR), follower growth, and video retention (for short-form).
- Use platform insights (Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics, X Analytics) and third-party tools to identify top-performing content.
- Prepare a weekly or monthly report highlighting wins, learnings, and recommendations for the creative team (e.g., “Carousels get 2x more saves than single images”).
- A/B test posting times, caption lengths, and hashtag sets – share findings with the team.
Trend & Strategy Research
- Stay up-to-date on platform algorithm changes, new features (e.g., Instagram Notes, TikTok Series), and emerging trends (audio, memes, formats).
- Conduct competitor and audience research to identify content gaps or opportunities.
- Recommend strategic shifts (e.g., “We should post more Reels than static images” or “Let’s start a weekly hashtag challenge”).
Collaboration
- Brief the Graphic Designer on required visuals: dimensions, messaging, format (carousel, single image, story).
- Brief the Video Content Creator on video needs: length, aspect ratio, captions, hooks.
- Provide feedback to both creators based on performance data (e.g., “Thumbnails with faces get higher CTR – let’s do more of that”).
Requirements
– Proven experience as a Social Media Manager, Social Media Coordinator, or Community Manager – portfolio or case studies required.
– Deep understanding of major platforms: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube (including Shorts).
– Experience using social media management tools (Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or native Creator Studio).
– Strong writing skills for captions, replies, and short-form copy – ability to match brand voice (fun, professional, educational, etc.).
– Basic data literacy: ability to interpret analytics dashboards and translate numbers into actionable recommendations.
– Familiarity with hashtag strategies, SEO for social, and platform-specific best practices (e.g., TikTok’s preference for native captions).
– Excellent organizational skills – managing a content calendar and meeting daily posting schedules.
– Ability to work collaboratively with designers and video creators (giving clear, constructive feedback).
Nice‑to‑Have (Not Required)
- Experience with paid social advertising (boosting posts, running Meta/TikTok ads).
- Basic graphic design or video editing skills (Canva, CapCut) – not needed but helpful for emergencies.
- Knowledge of influencer marketing (identifying, reaching out, managing gifting/campaigns).
- Experience with **social listening tools** (Brand24, Mention, Sprout Social).
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
- Publish consistently – no missed posts on scheduled platforms.
- Grow follower count by [X]% month-over-month (realistic target based on starting size).
- Increase average engagement rate (likes+comments+shares / impressions) by [Y]%.
- Deliver weekly reports that clearly show what’s working and what’s not – and creative team acts on your recommendations.
- Maintain response time to comments/DMs under [e.g., 2 hours during business hours].
